Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative (Northeast Power) has an opening for a Project Manager Intern at the Palmyra, Missouri, location. Northeast Power is a transmission cooperative delivering power to northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa.

This is a paid summer internship starting in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. The standard work schedule follows a 4-day, 10-hour shift, Monday through Thursday. Some flexibility in workdays and hours may be required based on project needs and assignments.

What You Will Do:
This internship provides hands-on experience supporting project management activities in a construction and utility environment. The Project Management Intern will assist with planning, organizing and executing projects to ensure timely delivery and alignment with Northeast Power objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with planning and scheduling project activities, tracking progress, updating timelines and maintaining project documentation.
  • Provide leadership with regular updates on project status, including upcoming activities, issues and risks, budget considerations, schedules and action items.
  • Participate in site visits to understand project deliverables and assist in verifying that construction activities meet design requirements
  • Gain exposure to the procurement process, including supplier selection, scoping, contract negotiation support, purchasing, delivery coordination and material or service receipt.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and assist with additional project-related tasks as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a motivated, organized individual with an interest in project management within a construction or utility environment. In addition, we are looking for:

   •    Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.
   •    Basic understanding of construction and project management principles
   •    Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize action items
   •    Effective written and verbal communication skills
   •    Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
   •    Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
   •    Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
